The Manchester Dogs’ Home will be holding its First Fun Dog Show at Crofter’s House, Moss Brook Road, Harpurhey, Manchester, M9 5PG on Sunday 1st May 2005. The Dog Show will start at 1.00 p.m. and finish at 4.00 p.m.
The Home invites the public to come and enjoy the afternoon with their dogs and hopefully win a few prizes. The classes at the show will include amongst others, prettiest bitch, most handsome dog and waggiest tail. There will be refreshments, a variety of stalls and games to entertain both young and old. Tickets for a raffle, to be drawn later in MAY, for a signed MANCHESTER CITY SHIRT, which was kindly donated by Richard Dunne, will also be on sale. The shirt has 20 signatures including Robbie Fowler, Richard Dunne and David James. The money raised from the raffle of this shirt will directly benefit the dogs at the Dogs’ Home and all are welcome to partake. If you cannot attend on Sunday but would like to purchase some raffle tickets please contact 0161 205 7136 for further information.
At the Spring Fair there will be many attractions (besides the dogs), including stalls selling doggy objects, bric-a-brac and cakes plus face painting, tombola and raffles. Visitors will also be able to relax with a refreshing drink and snack in the dining room. First-time visitors to the Home will be able to walk around and see the other facilities they have to offer – hopefully you will be impressed with the refurbished and improved kennels which incorporate dog runs to the rear, the neutering unit and "Farewells" Pet Cemetery. Most important of all, the kennels will be open for the public to have a look around for their new "Best Friend".
If you would like to adopt Penny or one of her many friends at the Dogs’ Home then please visit on Monday – Saturday between the hours of 1:00 – 5:00 pm or Sundays between the hours of 1:00 – 4:00 pm. The home is located at Crofters House, Moss Brook rd, Harpurhey, M9 5PG
