Tom E Bowman
It is with great sadness that we at the Scottish Kennel Club heard that Tom Bowman had passed away unexpectedly during the night of Wednesday 18th May.
Tom served as an SKC Executive Council member from 2000 to 2003 and during that period, also as a member of the Finance & Administration Committee. He retired from his positions at SKC on health grounds and will be long remembered by members and those of us on the Council for his sincerity and professionalism while serving the club. It was typical of Tom that on recovering his health, he most willingly agreed last year to serve the club again as a Trustee.
Tom was much respected for his sound judgement and professional advice. His talents were well recognised by the Royal Bank of Scotland where he was employed for 37 years. For 25 of those years he held managerial positions throughout Scotland finally retiring as a Group Manager in 1995. His ability to continue as a self-employed Corporate Financial Consultant reflected the enthusiasm and capability for which he was also regarded in the world of dogs.
Tom will be sorely missed by his great many friends and fellow committee members of the various societies in Scotland on which he served so conscientiously over the years.
I wish to express the deepest sympathy of all members and staff of the Scottish Kennel Club to Tom’s devoted wife Norma and to the rest of his family at this sad time.
