Could your dog be the next Scruffts Family Crossbreed Dog of the Year? If so, you and your dog can have the opportunity to shine by taking part in a Scruffts Heat at this year’s East of England Autumn Show at the East of England Showground in Peterborough on Sunday 9th October 2005.
Organised by the East of England Agricultural Society on behalf of The Kennel Club, each entrant will have the chance to impress the judges in the Show Ring under the categories:-
Most Handsome Crossbreed Dog (6 months - 7 years); Prettiest Crossbreed Bitch (6 months - 7 years); Child’s Best Friend* (6 months - 12 years); Golden Oldie Crossbreed (8 years - 12 years).
*Must be handled by a young person between 6 and 16 years of age.
Scruffts rosettes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each class. The winner of each class will then be entered into the Grand Final at Discover Dogs, London’s leading canine event, to take place at Earls Court 2 on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th November 2005 to compete for the overall accolade of Scruffts ‘Family Crossbreed Dog of the Year’.
Admission to the Autumn Show is priced at Family (2+2) £14, Adult £7, Senior (65+) £5 and Children (5-16 years) £3, with an entry fee of £1 for each Scuffts class entered to raise funds for The Kennel Club Charitable Trust.
Registration will be on the day at 11.00am (gates open 10.00am - 4.30pm) with judging to commence from 12 noon.
Car Parking is FREE and unlimited, with a network of level tarmac roads for ease of access for the disabled. Wheelchairs and electric scooters are available by prior arrangement from Fair Mobility, telephone 01522 790834.
The East of England Showground, situated in Alwalton, Peterborough, is easily accessible by car from all major routes and is well sign-posted. Rail passengers should travel to Peterborough Station located approximately 6 miles from the Showground and there is a taxi rank directly outside the Station. The Peterborough Bus Station is located opposite the railway station in the Queensgate Shopping Centre.
