Shadrack, looking every inch at home in front of the lens!
Shadrack, a three-year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross really proved that beauty is in the eye of the beholder after being rehomed following an appearance on ITV's Paul O'Grady show.
Shadrack travelled from Dogs Trust Shoreham Rehoming Centre to the London television studios to appear on a rehoming feature on 'ugly dogs'. While Shadrack might not have approved of being featured under such a heading, he was a true star; patiently waiting through rehearsals and looking very proud as Paul O'Grady brought him on stage accompanied by two other rescue dogs, as well as screen stars Terry Wogan and Kate Thornton.
Shadrack had been brought to Dogs Trust as a stray and was quite poorly with serious digestion problems, but after a few visits to the vets, his condition was under control. Shadrack also has a deformity of his front legs which doesn't cause him any pain, but may lead to problems in later life.
With these problems Shadrack had struggled to find a new home quickly, despite being a loving, playful dog that would make a fantastic pet.
Shadrack won the hearts of hundreds of viewers who saw him on TV, and staff at Dogs Trust Shoreham are thrilled that he has now been found a loving new home.
Dianne Porter, Manager at Dogs Trust Shoreham Rehoming Centre comments: "We were all very proud of Shadrack, and are very happy that he has now found a loving new family to look after him, although he will be greatly missed.
If anyone is considering rehoming a dog, we have many dogs all in need of loving home and we urge people to come and visit us."
