AS WE go to press our thoughts are with the family of Trevor Wheeler who is currently caught up in the troubles raging in the Lebanon.
Trevor was in the region working for international animal welfare body WSPA when the current crisis flared up.
His wife Yvonne reports that he is at present safe, although the hotel he was staying in was almost hit and he has had to spend a couple of nights at an underground car park. He is presently investigating possible routes out of the troubled region.
Trevor was due to judge Tervueren at East of England (his first time of giving tickets) and had been greatly looking forward to this appointment. Yvonne adds ‘He will be so disappointed to miss the show but thanks all of you who entered and a huge thanks to Sandra Smith for taking on the judging appointment in lieu of her own scheduled for next year and for Pearl Crocker the show secretary for being so understanding.
‘I don't know when Trevor will be home - I'm hoping and praying it will not be too much longer now but as I write there appears no plans for an evacuation at the moment. It is at times like these that I realise just what a fantastic bunch you all are and I have been innundated with kind wishes and thoughts. We both hope to thank you in person at the club show in August.’
We hope Yvonne and all Trevor’s family and friends will have good news of him soon.
