One of Britain’s most experienced presenters, well-known Crufts commentator and former Blue Peter presenter, Peter Purves has agreed to be master of ceremonies for Notcutts new ‘All About Dogs’ event at Notcutts Garden Centre, Daniels Road, Norwich on Thursday 3rd August.
Helping Peter to draw the crowds are two very special doggie celebrities, Wellard and Terrence from Eastenders, who are bound to be a hit with Notcutts customers The fun packed day for dog lovers is just £2 entry for adults (children free when accompanied by a paying adult) with £1 of this going to The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
During the day there will be an arena of dog displays including gun dogs, a dog trainer and guide dog handling, plus there’ll be children’s entertainment and facepainters, free to enter competitions with great prizes to be won and fundraising activities for Guide Dogs such as raffles, doggie tombola, nominal charge for facepainters and a percentage of the charge for photos with the celebrity dogs. All this fun activity will be supported by trade stands and people imparting doggie advice.
‘Unfortunately due to the numbers of people that usually attend such events, we are unable to welcome our furry customers themselves - with the exception of guide dogs and other assistance dogs,’ says garden centre manager, James Debbage. ‘Having said that it promises to be an interesting day for dog lovers and I hope lots of people will come along and help us to raise money for Guide Dogs.’
Guide Dogs will be there in force including meeting and greeting the guide dogs and the puppy walkers, demonstrations by the dogs that have almost completed their training, raffle prizes of blindfold walks, Guide Dog stand and lots of fundraising activities.
