Win tickets to East of England with Our Dogs

OUR DOGS has teamed up with East of England Agricultural Society to offer readers the chance to win one of 20 pairs of tickets to one of the country’s top dog showing events!

Discover hundreds of top dogs from the length and breadth of the country and beyond at the East of England Championship Dog Show to be held from Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20 July 2006 at the East of England Showground, Peterborough.

Organised by the East of England Agricultural Society, the Championship Dog Show is one of the most popular events of the dog showing world and this year will see nearly 9,000 entrants compete for the highly coveted ‘Best in Show’ award.

Visitors can see over 130 individual breeds during the three days featuring Hounds, Toys & Terriers on Tuesday 18 July, Gundogs & Utilities on Wednesday 19 July and Working & Pastoral on Thursday 20 July, including special classes for Young Kennel Club handlers. Successful winners from this year’s show will qualify for Crufts 2007 - officially recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the ‘largest dog show in the world’.

There is also a great opportunity to pamper your pet and enjoy some retail therapy with over 50 specialist trade stands selling everything to make your dog’s day including the very latest fashions in the dog world.

Andrew Mercer, Chief Executive said, ‘The Championship Dog Show is a marvellous opportunity to see every kind of dog breed imaginable and with the pet passport system now firmly established, overseas entries remain a welcome edition to the show, making it a truly international event.’

The East of England Showground, situated in Alwalton, Peterborough, is easily accessible by car from all major routes and is well sign-posted. Rail passengers should travel to Peterborough Station located approximately 6 miles from the Showground and there is a taxi rank directly outside the Station. The Peterborough Bus Station is located opposite the railway station in the Queensgate Shopping Centre.

On-the-gate-admission: Adult £4, Senior (65+) £3 and Children (5-16 years) £2. Gates open from 8.15am - 5pm, with judging to commence 10am (although some breeds may start earlier).
