Baby attacked

A SEVEN-week-old baby had emergency surgery last week after a dog savaged her hand.
Doctors at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital operated on the baby girl - but they were not expected to be able to save three fingers of her left hand.

The infant was at home with her family when their crossbreed terrier puppy attacked her.
Police were also called and spent the night carrying out forensic tests at the home where the baby's mother lived with her four children. A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack.

Officers later confirmed a man was arrested in connection with the incident but released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The animal, a 10-week-old puppy, has been put down, according to a family friend.
The baby girl was said to be in a stable condition with her 26-year-old mother at her bedside.
