CH BRAMERITA Naughty But Nice, or Doughnut to her friends, has become the UKs biggest CC winner of all time, and her owners Kevin and Shelda Hornby are over the moon. The Longcoat Chihuahua notched up her record breaking 90th CC at Darlington, under judge Rota Morgan, finally toppling Mike Bottomley’s American Cocker, Sh Ch Am Ch Homesteads Tiffany with Boduf off the top spot after over 15 years at the top.
The seven year old homebred girl won her first CC and BOB at 10 months old at Windsor under Norman Chorlton, at the same show Terry Thorn noticed her potential and awarded her a G4 placing. Just three months later she became a Champion at Blackpool, aged just 13 months, under breed specialist Pam Tranter.
Her wins (which are considerably longer than she is!) include seven group 1 wins, eight group 2s, seven group 3s and four group 4s. She has won the CC - four with BOB - at Crufts every time she has been shown there (six times) and has also graced the group 2 and group four podiums at the show. Add to this two Res BIS wins and a BIS at The National this year (pictured right), and it seems little wonder that she was headed for huge success.
Moving overseas, in January she took BOB and Best Bred by Exhibitor under Andrew Brace at the prestigious AKC Invitational show in Florida.
Shelda, daughter of Bob and Rita Brampton, said: “I am so proud and it’s so good for the breed. I will never go for a record again, it’s given me high blood pressure and cost far too much money!”.
Shelda and Kevin are planning to show Doughnut in Europe later this year, watch this space!
