CANICROSS took off in the New Forest last weekend with dozens of excited dogs pulling their equally excited owners through the muddy tracks.
As usual with the event, all breeds were welcome and the run saw rottweilers, Australian shepherds and even poodles at Bolderwood, all in eager anticipation of racing along with their owners.
The sport is popular in France and is great fun for dogs and owners.
Helen Chalk, of the Forestry Commission, took part with her beagle, Poppy. She said: "Part of the remit of the Forestry Commission is to get people out and active and they fully support this event."
Organiser Simon Lamen said that more events were planned for later in the year, including an orienteering event in June and another canicross race in October.
