Cocker puppy joins royal family

Issue: 12/02/2021

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have got a new puppy.
Last year the couple reported that their Cocker Spaniel Lupo had died. They wrote on Instagram, ‘Very sadly last weekend our dear dog, Lupo, passed away. He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much. - W & C.’
Lupo had been bred from Ella who belonged to the Duchess’ parents Michael and Carole Middleton.
The new puppy has been bred by Mr Middleton from Lupo’s sister Luna.
A source told the Mail on Sunday, ‘They were devastated when Lupo passed away, as any dog owner will understand.
‘But they got the new puppy before he died. It was hoped that a younger dog would give Lupo some company and give him a little more life and energy.’
It is reported that William, Catherine and their three children are ‘besotted’ with the new puppy. At present it is not known what name they have given to their new dog.
