Sheepdog breaks records

Issue: 24/07/2020

A sheepdog puppy has been sold at auction for a record breaking £12,000.
The Border Collie, Tynygraig Jet, is the most expensive dog under a year in age to be sold at auction. It smashes the previous record of £7,035 for an dog under 12 months.
In February OUR DOGS reported the world record sale of a sheepdog at Skipton Auction Mart when the dog Meghan was sold for £18,900. That record was broken in June when a dog was sold at the Farmers Mart, Dolgellau, for £19,451.
Owing to the current pandemic, the auction took place online and it is thought the high prices paid are due to competitive bidding from buyers worldwide.
He was sold by Dewi Jenkins from Ceredigion, Wales at Skipton Auction Mart. He has produced some of the most sought after sheepdogs in the UK and the dog was reared by his partner, Sara Lewis.
