Thieves target Cockers and Cockerpoos

Issue: 15/05/2020

Fourteen dogs have been stolen from a kennels in Norfolk.
Between two and two thirty on the morning of Monday 11 May thieves broke into Justine Watts’s kennels in Upwell, Norfolk. They took seven adult Cocker Spaniels, four Cocker Spaniel puppies and three Cockerpoo puppies.
The puppies were not yet old enough to leave their mothers, with some being between five and six weeks old.
Ms Watts, who has been running the family run kennels for 19 years and is a member of the Cockapoo Club of Great Britain, told OUR DOGS she was, ‘Heartbroken, sick to my stomach.’
It would appear to be a planned operation as to get to the dogs the criminals needed to break through three gates and a locked door.
When we spoke to Ms Watts the Police were still taking forensic evidence.
An interview with BBC Cambridgeshire and other media outlets are planned in order to help in the effort to get her dogs returned.
Posts asking for information have been shared around social media as the canine community works to assist in their safe return.
Justine is offering a reward and her, ‘Main concern is to get my dogs back safely.’
