Twenty seven dogs in a car!

When police tried to flag down a woman seen driving on the A1 near Cambridge with a dog on her lap, she would not stop because she thought she had done nothing wrong.

Fifteen miles down the road, after veering across lanes on the dual carriageway, she pulled over and police discovered four other dogs on the passenger seat and 22 other dogs in the back of her Renault Laguna estate car.

Barbara Byrne, 60, a former care worker, told police she was on the way from Tongham, Surrey to Skegness to give the dogs a run on the beach.

Appearing last week at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court last week she was found guilty of driving without due care and attention, failing to stop for a constable and driving otherwise than in accordance with her licence.
