It is sad to report the death of Hugh Kelly who has been a familiar and larger than life figure in the dog world for over twenty years.
Exhibiting Smooth haired Fox Terriers under the Clongoes prefix, which he shared with his son, John and daughter, Helena, he made up Champions in England andIreland. He also made up Champions in Irish Terriers and prepared and handled Glen of Imaal Terriers to top awards. He won Pup of the Year in the early ‘90s.
He encouraged his own son and daughter and many other young people over the years in Junior Handling, an area in which he took a keen interest.
Hugh will be much missed in the Irish dog scene - not least for his contribution to the Clubs in which he was an active member but also on the Council of the Irish Kennel Club on which he served for many years.
