Police praise heroic Stafford

POLICE PRAISED a heroic Staffordshire Bull terrier after he prevented his owner, a teenage girl from being attacked. The girl is recovering after a man tried to drag her down a path as she was out walking her dog in Edinburgh last Friday evening.

Police have appealed for help in tracing the man who was seen acting suspiciously in the Pilton area of the city on Friday, January 18th.

The 16-year-old was out with her dog on the walkway between West Pilton Green and Granton Mill at about10.00 pm.

The man tried to pull her down the path, but the girl's Staffordshire Bull Terrier jumped on him, and he ran off. The man was described as Afro Caribbean, 5ft 8ins, well built with a foreign accent.
