New President for German KC


Peter FriedrichProfessor Dr. Peter Friedrich is the new President of the German KC (VDH). Friedrich was unanimously voted head of the VDH at its General Meeting on 1 March in Dortmund, following nomination by his predecessor, Christofer Habig, who was unable to stand again due to work commitments.

Christa Bremer and Wolfgang Henke were both re-elected in office as VDH Vice Presidents, again unanimously. Further members of the Executive Committee are Hermann Josef Gerhards, Udo Kopernik, Josef Pohling and Hans Wiblishauser.

The new VDH President has been active in the VDH since 1980 in a variety of capacities. He is the breed supervisor of the "German Greyhound Breeding and Racing Association", working judge of the "German Rottweiler Club", Greyhound course observer as well as Specialist Breed judge for Greyhounds, Sloughis and Salukis. Friedrich (aged 50) is also a member of the VDH working group “conduct inspection“ and holds lectures in the VDH Academy on the subject of canine conduct judgement.

Prior to these elections the General Meeting voted by a great majority in favour of the new VDH statute and breeding regulation framework.
